Supervisor ViCurtis E. Coles Little, a third generation preacher, serves as Senior Pastor of Greater Deliverance Christian Center Church of God in Christ (COGIC). She is also affectionately known as Pastor Vi. She has been involved in ministry her entire life. As an apprentice of her Father and Pastor the Supt Lloyd C. Coles, Sr., she learned to serve early at the Holy Temple COGIC. As a child she exhibited good work ethic, helping her father clean the sanctuary and dusting pews. Music was strongly encouraged in the home and at age 12 she was the church pianist. Supervisor Little was born to the late Supt. Lloyd C. Coles, Sr. and Missionary Cleopatra Coles of Roanoke, VA. Supervisor Little was an excellent student in the Roanoke school district, she was inspired to continue a higher education at the Bremerton Business College in Bremerton, WA. While living in Seattle she continued to serve God as an accomplished and anointed pianist at the Madison Temple COGIC. Although she was an excellent singer and musician her oldest sister noticed her compassionate heart for women whose lives are torn apart by tragedies. Supervisor Little is and has always been unwavering in her pursuit to compel women to understand that life is worth living in God no matter how dark the circumstances. After she completed her degree she landed a coveted position as the prestigious Boeing Airplane Company. She was one of the first Black secretaries hired in these positions. Amidst much opposition and discrimination, she persevered and became the best typist and secretary in the company. She uses the same tenacity in ministry today teaching men, women and children that quitting is not an option when faced with discrimination. This is perfect time to let God demonstrate His power. Once she relocated to the Washington, DC area she worked in the government for the pharmaceutical law firm of Kleinfeld, Kaplan and Becker as the Office Manager. She retired after 25 years of dedicated service.
The Lord continued to use her as an instrument to serve across denomination lines in the music ministry. After becoming a member of the Deliverance COGIC under the leadership of Pastor John I. Little, she also served as the pianist and the choir director. At Deliverance she established the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, meeting several times a week. Her steadfast, fervent prayer life shaped an extraordinary insight and discernment of people. These gifts play a vital and critical role in her ministry as Evangelist and Pastor. Not only did she have a passion for prayer she also has a love for Sunday School. She is the Sunday School advocate of Greater Deliverance since Sunday School is where she received the Lord. As a result of prayer and Bible study she is a force on the Evangelist field traveling across the country and overseas proclaiming the word of God.
Supervisor Little has held many positions in the COGIC such as President of the Women’s Convention, Parliamentarian for the DC Jurisdiction, President of the Licensing Board for the DC Jurisdiction, Staff member for the Pastor’s Wives of the National Pastors and Elders Council.
Supervisor Little is a devoted wife to the Bishop John I. Little, Senior Pastor of Greater Deliverance COGIC where she serves by his side. She also supported Bishop Little during his time in office as Bishop of the Chaplains of the Armed Forces of the COGIC. She served as his Executive Administrative Assistant. Bishop and Supervisor Little also conducted marriage seminars for the military Chaplains.
Supervisor Little was appointed Pastor under the leadership of her husband, Bishop John I. Little. Under her leadership the church membership has increased physically and spiritually. Supervisor Little is diligent in teaching and preaching the unadulterated word of God. She places strong emphasis on family. Through her guidance she established, “Family Night” at Greater Deliverance on Monday nights. During these sessions’ women, men, teens and children each participate in a casual atmosphere discussing life issues. She seeks to constrain men and women everywhere to join the body of Christ and to realize the power that can be inherent in their lives as a result of uncompromising Word of God with strength and boldness. She has a true concern for the souls of men. She displays a "no nonsense" approach to serving the Lord and training His people. She has the utmost respect for all who come in contact with her.
She has been appointed the Jurisdictional Supervisor of the District of Columbia of the COGIC. Greater Deliverance Christian Center COGIC and the D.C. Jurisdiction are overjoyed with this new appointment. Since this appointment she has already made an impact. Supervisor Little has served as a member of the National Advisory Board of the Church Of God In Christ under the leadership of Mother Willie Mae Rivers, General Supervisor Emeritus.
Supervisor Little often preaches and teaches that “if you are in ministry during these times God has favored you and that your ministry must be relevant for this day and time.” Therefore, she clearly has been chosen for such a time as this!
Supervisor Little is a loving mother and grandmother. She has raised her children in the admonition of Jesus Christ. She has also been instrumental in the lives of hundreds of others who rise up and call her blessed.
